Direction information

For more than 20 years, the Department of Energy of the Cracow University of Technology has been educating students in the field of Energy Engineering.

In connection with the implementation of the Act of 20 July 2018 – The Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) education in the discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy Engineering at the Cracow University of Technology will be conducted at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energy (WIŚiE). The new Faculty of Cracow University of Technology was created as a result of the transformation of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, which was joined by the Department of Energy Cracow University of Technology.

GRADUATE STUDENTS

Graduates are familiar with the possibilities and the current state of the art in the field of practical use of conventional and solar energy, wind, hydro and geothermal energy to meet the growing energy needs of cities, housing estates and individual houses. They also have knowledge of the principles of energy management in large industrial plants, small businesses and municipalities. They are prepared to work in companies involved in the generation, processing, transmission, storage and distribution of energy. They are fluent in computer programs supporting design, modelling and decision-making processes (CAD, MES, CFD, EBSILON, OZC, CO).

Qualifications for graduates In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure and Development of the Republic of Poland of 11 September 2014 on independent technical functions in construction (Journal of Laws 2014, item 1278), graduates of the faculty of Power Engineering may apply for building qualifications without restrictions within the installation speciality in the field of networks, installations and devices for heating, ventilation, gas, water and sewage. Also, graduates of this faculty may apply for building licences in the speciality of installation in the field of networks, installations and electrical and power equipment to a limited extent.

Additionally, during their studies, students of the Energy Engineering may apply for qualification certificates in accordance with the Energy Law Act at positions related to the supervision and operation of equipment, installations and power networks within the scope of groups:

Group 1 ‒ Electrical equipment,
Group 2 ‒ Thermal energy equipment,
Group 3 ‒ Gas installation and network equipment
